If your reflector is damaged, then UltraFlat's remanufacturing process is the surprising alternative to replacement. At about 1/2 the price of a new unit, your old reflector can be made better than new in our laboratory.
Your reflector goes through a 5-step process conducted in a clean room. We will hone your reflector to remove all the original coating, then finish up the process with a precision lapping to 1/10 of a micron. An enhanced reflective coating is applied with a multi-layered protective overcoat. After your reflector has gone through a repolishing stage, it is then recoated. The effect on the screen is an obviously sharper image, with vastly improved contrast. The colors are sharper and more defined; blacks are blacker, blues are bluer. Typical maximum reflection is 95 percent. In a recent test by Roberts Film Service of Montreal, Canada, a new reflector was put side by side with one remanufactured by UltraFlat. While the new one was judged slightly brighter (less than 3 percent or 1/10 of a foot lambent) than UltraFlat's reflector, the one by UltraFlat was superior in both contrast and sharpness. Your restoration should last for many years and is guaranteed for one year against defects of workmanship or materials. |
